A study was conducted at National Teak Germplasm Bank, Lohara Research Station in Chandrapur district of Maharashtra (India) to analyze the inter clonal variations in the phenological characters of Teak with special reference to variations in phenological characters like month of flowering, month of leaf shedding, month of leaf initiation and month of fruiting. The study was undertaken for thirty clones of Teak (Tectona grandis Linn.F) using randomized block design with three replications. Low variability was observed in the periods of leaf shedding, new leaf initiation and flowering with substantial variability observed only in the period of fruiting.
Tectona grandis, clonal variation, phonological characters, genetic variability, tree improvement.
