Higher and consistent germination rates are associated with species specific seed treatment toimprove and uniform seedling emergence which supportfor its growth. Aegle marmelos (L.) Correa (family Rutaceae)is commonly known as bael, which is categorized under RET species, emphasising the need for mass multiplication through correct seed treatments. A field experiment was undertaken in silviculture nursery of Tropical Forest Research Institute, Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, to find out the effects of seed treatments through water soaking, cow urine, cow dung slurry, gibberellicacid (GA3) for 24 hours and control (without any treatment) on seed germination and growth of seedlings in A. marmelos. Results revealed that germination started at 7.52 days, 50% germination were observed at 10.32 days and 95.55% germination werenoticedafter 30 days of sowing in seedstreated with GA3 @ 250 ppm followed by cow dung, cow urine and water soaking than that of control. Similarly, maximum seedling height of 8.25cm and number of leaves per plant was 4.55 recorded after 30 days of sowing in seeds treated with GA3 @ 250 ppm followed by cow dung, cow urine and water soaking over control. The findings suggest that GA3 influences seedling development and is a deciding factor to increase the ideal population at the field level. This study will be helpful to the growers for production of quality planting material of A. marmelos for the higher productivity of seeds
